How to change your Registered Office Address

UK Limited Companies and UK Limited Liability Partnerships can change their Registered Office address if they so choose. However, the new address must be within the existing jurisdiction of the company or partnership. You cannot, for instance, change a company’s registered office from Edinburgh to London. London is in one jurisdiction and Edinburgh another.

The 3 UK jurisdictions are:

  • England and Wales
  • Scotland
  • Northern Ireland

To buy our Registered Office Service (without forming a limited company), simply go to the “Non Company Formation Services” panel on our home page. Use the “change of company address” link and complete your order. Alternatively you can place your order by going to: http://1st-choice-formations.co.uk/

For a change of address to be effective, Companies House has to be informed. There are three ways to register the change at Companies House.

  • If you have your company’s or partnership’s web authentication code:
    • Log onto the Companies House Website and follow the instructions to change your company’s registered office, or
    • Use the free online company administration portal we will give you after you have placed your order with us. Log into your portal and use the import button to import your company. Then edit the Registered Office details. The change will register at Companies House instantly.
  • If you do not have your company’s web authentication code you will need to submit form AD01. If you are a Limited Liability Partnership, you will need to submit form LLAD01. The change will take about one week to register.

Once you have registered the change of address with Companies House, you will need to change your stationery and communications. If you are using our service your address will be; 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX.
